Playing The Health Lottery generates money that improves the health of people across Britain

When people pay to play The Health Lottery games, a minimum of 20% of every lottery draw ticket and online scratch card purchased goes towards good causes. From 23 January 2025, The Health Lottery will operate on behalf of The Health Lottery Foundation. We are responsible for making sure that the money flows into communities in a way that makes a real difference to people’s lives.

The Health Lottery has a history of supporting causes that tackle health inequality and improve wellbeing

For more than a decade The Health Lottery raised money on behalf of multiple local community interest companies (CICs), which was distributed by the People’s Health Trust. Starting from 23 January 2025, the lottery will be run on behalf of The Health Lottery Foundation, who will allocate the funds for good causes across Britain.

The Health Lottery Foundation exists to benefit the community not private shareholders. Finding ways to make the biggest impact to people’s lives is top priority for The Health Lottery Foundation team. In 2025, the Foundation will be inviting applications under 6 themes. We can’t wait to hear more about the work you’re doing.

The percentage of money from games that goes to good causes
